Always among my favorites, I took this series in September 1970 – confirmed the date from the calendar in the caboose. I was amazed that even in 1970 the interior looked like something out of a earlier era. The photos were taken at the Western Maryland RR facility in Hanover, PA.

I found this Page while doing some research and could not resist joining and sharing a few of my old photographs. I am a photographer and writer and have through the years produced three RR books based on my photographs. Here is one of my favorites images, it appears the the caboose is being steered, but of course it is going down a slight incline and the brake is being applied as it reaches its destination. This was taken at the Western Maryland Railway facility in Hanover, PA, circa 1972.

As I was walking through the roundhouse at the Georgia State Railroad Museum in Savannah; I turned and saw this girl taking a picture of I assume her mother in front of one of the engines.
